The TRIC Project Enhances Uncertainty Skills Across Europe

The TRIC (Towards Resilient and Innovative Communities - Making Uncertainty Productive) project builds European competence that strengthens students’ ability to navigate uncertainty. The project focuses on universities, higher education institutions, and vocational schools – environments where young people’s futures are shaped every day.

Uncertainty is a natural part of life, working life, and society as a whole. That is why we need skills that enable us not only to cope with uncertainty, but to act with courage and collaboration in its midst. The goal is for the ability to navigate uncertainty to become a European strength – a competence that supports both individual and community wellbeing and agency. Instead of experiencing uncertainty as a threat, we aim to transform it into a learnable resource for personal and professional growth.

MARKED’s Role in the Project

At MARKED, we are truly honored to be part of this three-year EU-funded project together with committed and highly skilled European partners. Our long-standing work in developing young people’s human skills has given us deep insight into what facing uncertainty means in practice and how multidimensional the phenomenon truly is.

One thing is certain: many things are uncertain in life. For that very reason, addressing it requires conscious support, community-based structures, and practical tools.

Within the TRIC project, we are responsible for developing a digital application through which the materials and tools created during the project will be made available to students, teachers, and organizations, both during the project and beyond. We have strong experience in developing innovative solutions directly with the target group - not merely for them, but together with them. Co-creation is our way of working, extending from ideation and piloting all the way to fully developed application-level solutions. When students and teachers are actively involved in building solutions, the result is tools that are practical, meaningful, and impactful in everyday life.

We firmly believe that the digital platform can serve as a foundation for innovative, learning communities across Europe – communities where uncertainty can be collectively transformed into growth.

Kick-Off Days in Turku

The TRIC project kick-off took place in Turku on January 21–23, 2026. The three-day launch event, organized by the team at Turku University of Applied Sciences, brought together project partners from across Europe to build a shared understanding of the project’s goals, working methods, and impact. Through discussions and workshops, the partners built not only plans but also a strong foundation for collaboration that will carry throughout the entire project period.

Our warm thanks to Turku University of Applied Sciences for the excellent cooperation and the successful kick-off days. It is inspiring to see what happens when experts from different countries gather around a meaningful shared theme. When the direction is clear and commitment is strong, solutions emerge that can have a wide-reaching impact across Europe.

We will share regular updates on the progress of the TRIC project over the next three years and keep you informed about the tools and solutions as they are implemented.
